I just wanted to give a huge recommendation for Buddy Salpeck/Salpeck’s Furniture. I contacted Buddy to refinish my very antique family heirloom Drexel French Provincial bedroom set after seeing his wife post on Facebook. I wasn’t positive what my end vision was, but I knew the set needed help. The original ivory and gold paint was weathered, peeling, and stained from decades of use, and pieces of the furniture were chipped off. It had gotten to the point that I considered giving it away at one point because it looked so bad. I let Buddy know that I did not want it painted, I wanted a stain that would show the wood. He worked patiently with me, having me see the condition of the wood once it was stripped, helping me narrow down what sort of stain I wanted, testing different shades for me to see, and finally helping me figure out how to make sure all the carvings and details of the set showed through. Tonight, Buddy dropped off my set and it is AMAZING. He really knocked it out of the park and I am so happy I chose to do this and work with him. He also rebuilt the chipped parts to where I can’t even see where the damage was. He respected the integrity of the set and it shows in the final product. I highly highly highly recommend him. ~ K.
